In the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit…
The Mass is a holy celebration where the priest acts in
Persona Christi.
This means that, through the power of the Holy Spirit, the priest is offering the sacrifice of the mass in a mystical way as Jesus offered His body and blood for us on the cross.
We ask the Holy Spirit to descend upon the priest in our response, “…and with your spirit!”
LITURGICAL MINISTRY
When we come together in the celebration of the Mass, we do not gather simply as a crowd. We gather in a variety of ministries and roles. The Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy of the Second Vatican Council tells us that participation in the liturgy is the right and duty of all the baptized.
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
At every Mass, there is needed a number of ministers of Holy Communion so that it may be distributed in a reverent and orderly manner. Extraordinary ministers assist the priest with reverent distribution of the Body and Blood of the Lord. Training needed.
LECTORS
The lector is instituted to proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture, with the exception of the Gospel. He or she may also announce the intentions for the Universal Prayer and, in the absence of a psalmist, recite the Psalm between the readings. Training needed.
ALTAR SERVERS
Altar Servers are youth age 9-15 who assist a priest during Mass. Their name comes from the Latin word “ministrare” which means ‘’to serve’’. Training needed.
USHERS / GREETERS
Ushers and Greeters are the ministers of hospitality. They promote a sense of welcoming and belonging to our parishioners as they arrive and attend mass.
JOIN A MINISTRY
JOIN NOWMUSIC MINISTRY
We demonstrate our love of God by sharing our gifts of music through song, voice and instruments. Music enhances our worship experience, bringing joy and feeding minds, spirits and hearts.
Music Ministers help lead our members through Mass and many volunteers are needed to make it possible. If you have a musical gift of song, piano, or other musical instrument please consider sharing it through this ministry.
